There was something about snow that gave Tamarei a sense of sadness. The way the small crystals fell gently that reminded him of his younger days. He couldn't even bear to look at it. Closing his eyes as the headlights of a passing car lit up his face, he took a deep breath through his nose and tried to grasp memories of his more innocent days.

His father's castle always had the scent of apples and cinnamon, a delicious smell that brought a smile to his face. He always curled up by the fireplace, sitting on his mother's lap as she read him a fairy tale. He always dreamt of becoming a hero and rescuing a princess. But as time passed on, he realized he was the princess who needed rescuing. Or rather, prince. What he needed was a hero.

Not just a noble knight in shining armour, or a superhuman in a cape. He needed someone. Of course, Tamarei liked being alone but being lonely was another thing. He couldn't be alone forever. He needed someone who would be there, like his mother used to. Someone who gave him a sense of security, like his father used to. Someone who he could always count on, like his brother used to.

He didn't need a lover, just a friend. Just anybody. He scoffed at the ridiculous idea. No, I don't need anybody. I'm perfectly fine like this. I don't need anybody... His bottom lip trembled as he squeezed his eyes shut, stopping tears from escaping his eyes. I-I don't need... a-anybody...

He bit his lower lip now to stop a small cry from escaping his mouth, raising a trembling hand to his pale face. I don't... n-need... anybody, right? He covered his eyes, feeling the warm tears slide down his cheeks. I... do need somebody... He sobbed silently, his body shivering slightly, not from the cold, but from the desire of another warm body.

The bitter snow fell, wind blowing harshly and causing the demon to stumble. He didn't care who saw him now, all he wanted to do was let out his sadness. He was lonely. Tamarei hated the feeling. He needed a warm embrace, a soft kiss, a kind smile. But it was impossible.

"Who'd w-want to be with a m-monster like me...?" He opened his empty grey eyes, staring up at the dark, cloudy sky. Sniffling, he dug a hand into his pocket to pull out a handkerchief to blow his nose. As he raised the soft cloth to his face, he lowered his gaze to see someone standing in the distance. He didn't recognize them, but mentally debated on whether or not he should befriend them.

Deciding to leave the person alone, he blew his nose and turned around to walk away. It was cold and he wasn't used to the weather. Needing to get somewhere warm, and fast, Tamarei narrowed his eyes in deep thought, trying to remember where he lived. The city was big and he wasn't used to it, and it was easy to get lost. Wiping the tears from his eyes, he turned to glance back at the person again.

Either his mind was playing tricks on him or the person had gotten closer.

OutofMonster; The snow brought back warm memories, causing Tamarei to recognize his need for company. After spotting someone standing nearby, he decides to ignore them and walk home. Tamarei seemed to have forgotten where he lived and now the person (your muse) had moved closer. Will your muse befriend him or leave him alone?

The vampire had caught the male's words, a monster....he said he was monster? Somehow that had gotten to Vlad, as he slowly took a few steps closer. He stopped when he saw the other watching him briefly before going to walk off. He went to take a few more steps until he saw him stop again and glance back, Vlad now being a bit closer. He wanted to go say something, but furrowed his brow and shook his head...why did he need anyone? Vladimir wouldn't admit his own loneliness for years, merely turning to leave as usual, another chance at companionship lost perhaps.
